Jamie, Ben et al

A quick one as I am so so tired. I went to bed at 3:00AM this morning and got up at 6:40. Jamie's concert was fabulous. Also we heard his new song he wrote for Clint Eastwood's new film. Lovely!

Jean-Luc, my cousin and I, had seats row 4 and I got to see Jamie's fingers going mad on the Piano. What a wonderful entertainer he is, what a fantastic voice and he doesn't take himself seriously in the least! He's hillarious!

Here are a few videos of last night:

Wonderful wonderful evening! Thank you Mark for letting me go...Thank you Jean-Luc for being such a wonderful cousin, thank you for being so special, spoiling Miss B and for being my Body guard! HA! ;-) We miss you tons over here!

On my way to Paris, to see my Darling Jamie

Photo: Jessiann16

I've got front row tickets!! I'm boing with My darling cousin Jean-Luc...my body guard ;-) A+ J-L!

I'm back! De retour!

I'm back with a new design! I don't really feel like talking about what happened a few weeks ago, I just want to keep things "light and bright" for the time being. As they say it so well in Seychelles...I dont want to brake my head and since I cannot pick a coconut from a tree, I am having a cup of green tea...

Paul Newman

TRIBUTE TO PAUL NEWMAN
January 26, 1924 - September 26, 2008

This morning, whilst I was making myself, yet another cup of green tea, Mark was reading the news on the net and announced the news about Paul Newman. I am saddened. I really like(d) him. A great actor! I remember seeing his eyes in "real"...that was 22 years ago or so when my Uncle used to share a sail boat in Connecticut and we bumped into him at the marina. I'm tellen ya eyes like this...waow!

Update...

Bhavishya and I had great fun at the wedding last w-e, seeing my beloved family in Floridac was fantasti, we went swimming, to the beach, sailing and did some retail therapy and we are (sadly) getting ready to fly home tonight however we are both looking forward to seeing both Mark and Pashmina whom me missed greatly!
Pictures will follow next week!

Schueberfouer

Every year, on the eve of the celebration of Saint Barthelemy (August 23) a big fair / kermess is on on one of the major square (La place du Glacis) in Luxembourg - town ...

By the way...29 people got stuck on a ride with their heads upside down at about 20 metres (65 feet) high for two-and-a-half hours. Not sure I'd be happy if it would happen to me! Uuurgh! To read more about it, click here.

SOS

I promissed to burn cds of music for dinner (background music) and dance for a wedding. The bride and the groom are in their 60s.

Any suggestions would be more than welcome!

Thank you!

J'attends toutes vos suggestions!

Merci!

August / Août 2008

Finally...at last a little resume of August...starting with our family day...

Please, bare with me a few more days for the rest...

Family day - August 10

Top left - August 10, 2006 the day we met her and picked her up from the orphanage / En haut à gauche le 10.08.2006 le jour de notre rencontre à l'hôtel.
Top right - August 10, 2007 with Mimi's children at the "Parc Merveilleux" in Luxembourg / En haut à droite le 10.08.2007 avec les enfants de Mimi au Parc Merveilleux à Luxembourg.
Bottom left - August 10, 2008 in our back yard / En bas à gauche - le 10.08.2008 dans notre jardin

After a fabulous brunch with French toast, fruit, juice etc., we went to the pool.

...and then to the Mudam (Museum of Modern Art). Mark had never been. As usual I love the architecture but was not terribly impressed by the exhibitions. ..

One of the exhibition was of the artist Laurent Pariente (who lives in New York)
My understanding is he was trying to work with light and colours. It was like a labyrith and his constructions made with timber frames and each varying in width and colour. The effect of it was quite a success to me as it had a feel of semetry...needless to say that Bhavishya loved it!

The other exhibitions just weren't really my taste...Les autres expositions n'étaient pas vraiment ma tasse de thé.
We had a lovely lovely day!

Pivotal moment / 744

I've read on this blog, which I follow regularly and I have also read in a book (I cannot remember which one) that the pivotal moment in an adopted child's life is when he or she has lived with you longer than the amount of time he or she has spent in an orphanage.

Today, August 23, 2008 marks the date when Bhavishya has been longer with us than at the orphanage! Waow!

Here is the detailed calculation:

Duration calculation results
From and including: Wednesday, July 28, 2004 To, but not including : Thursday, August 10, 2006
It is 743 days from the start date to the end date, but not including the end date
Or 2 years, 13 days excluding the end date
Alternative time units743 days can be converted to one of these units:
64,195,200 seconds
1,069,920 minutes
17,832 hours
106 weeks (rounded down)

So the MAGIC NUMBER is: 744 days!

Bhavishya has been with us 744 days it feels she has always been with us.
Today, Bhavishya is:
Adorable, sweet, loving, generous, kind, she writes her name and copies anything...she starts to recognise words...she loves to draw, she loses her temper when she cannot achieve something, she combs her hair and puts hair clips in them, she talks, talks and talks...it never stops!!! She reads story to herself (she remembers them by heart) she just managed to lace her laces this morning for the first time!!! She prays by herself...her favourite word is "it's me who does it"...she is testing, testing and testing all the time...and that drives me bananas! LoL! She pulls her tongue thanks to our friend Ernest who taught her that a few weeks ago when he and Caroline came over for diner!

On Friday, the social worker came for her 2 year post placement! Needless to say she was impressed!
I know I am bragging...but I'm one proud Mama!
