Bhavishya's 1st day at ski school / Le 1er jour à l'Ecole de Ski pour Bhavishya

Today, Bhavishya went to ski school for the 1st time. She did ever so well. Yesterday I took her on the skis for the first time ever...she did ever so well...needless to say my back was very sore this morning. Unfortunately I am experiencing problems downloading the pictures of yesterday from my camera. But here are some of today taken with Mark's camera!

Can you spot her?

Yesterday afternoon, hier après midi...

This playground is only about 200 yards away from our house!

My head is getting bigger and bigger by the minute, waow! Is it serious Doc? Nope nothing serious it is just that Rachel has awarded me the "E for Excellent". And, sorry for bragging about it, I am feeling rather proud. And I am showing it off by inserting in on the left collumn! But just in case you cannot see it here it is:

I'm honoured! Thank you Rachel.

I'm going to think whom to hand this award to next....

You all have a beautiful day!

Bumbed & bum cover

First of all I am bumbed...I was happily surfing this morning and found a cool blog of a mother of 4 she talks about something, I click on the link she is referring, to read all about it and even put it on my favourites. The phone rings, I come back I no longer can find the link to this funny Mom but the article of clothing she was referring to I can! Oh well!

So what was it she was talking about then, you may ask? Well, it is what Americans would call:

A plumber's crack cover

or what Brits would call :

a builders's bumb cover

It seems to do the job even if you have a muffin issue!

You can check them out here.

I love the idea of this garnment. I would like to order a couple....uuhhmmm! Let's think about it.

Lady, I hope I will find you again, thank you for the link and thank you for making me laugh this morning!

Look at what I did yesterday morning...regardez à quoi je m'occupe le dimanche matin...

A head band for "Bebe", in Liberty fabric!

I guess next...she (Bebe) will need a matching outfit!

Mama t'es cool avec tes Lunettes...Mama you are looking cool with your Sunglasses

"Maman t'es cool avec tes lunettes"...(je rigole en pensant que dans 10 ans elle me trouvera complètement rigard).

"Mama you're looking cool with your sun glasses..."(I laugh thinking that in ten years she'll think how completely old fashioned I'll look).

Pause

"Maman tu n'as pas dit que je suis cool avec mes lunettes!"
Ha ha...maintenant je vois où tu veux en venir ma chérie.

"Mama you did not tell me I'm cool with my glasses!"
Ha ha...now I see where you are coming from Darlin.

Chui pas Naz...

Voici la phrase du jour de Bhavishya:

"Chui pas naz moi, chui Bhavishya!"
Mdr!

Bonne et douce semaine ensoleillée à tous et à toutes

After the wedding

Did any of you see this film? Qui de vous a vu ce film

Here is the synopsis I got from their official website:

Acclaimed director Susanne Bier returns with her most powerful film yet, the Academy Award nominee for Best Foreign Language Film, AFTER THE WEDDING. Far from home, Jacob (Casino Royale villain, Mads Mikkelsen), runs a struggling orphanage in one India’s poorest regions. Desperate to save the orphanage from closure, he returns to Denmark to meet Jorgen (Rolf Lassgard) a wealthy businessman and potential benefactor. Jorgen offers Jacob a seemingly innocent invitation to attend his daughter’s wedding. What appears to be nothing more than a friendly gesture sets in motion an increasingly devastating series of surprises, revelations, and confessions that will forever change their lives. Sweeping, yet entirely intimate, AFTER THE WEDDING is a shattering portrait of a family struggling with the fragility of life and the search for connection, healing, and forgiveness.

Here is the trailer I found on Youtube:

Scarry! Effrayant!

I think I am going to order it! Je crois que je vais le commander!

The Davos Questions Part IV

The University Student / Graduate:

I think he's one of the better "Non professional". He's outspoken. It is clear he thought about it carefully. We talked about his idea the other night and I came to realising that one doesn't need to pay people nor motivate them.

As Mark rightly said: "...he is talking about distributed thinking. In other words, if you post the problem and the data you have on the web (video or blog). People will propose solutions. They just do. Effectively, you have outsourced your reasearch capacity"... "One just asks and it works".

I find his idea very interesting. Surely it won't give food to starving orphans.

Anyhow, whilst talking to Mark about it, he handed me this book:

I started reading it, and they talk about this very subject. So far quite convincingly, I must admit.

The Davos Question Part III

You have Indian school girls sharing their perspectives on the effects of globalization in India:

Do they have internet access? If so where? In School? I was just wondering how they found out about THE Davos Question? Did they write the script all by themselves, with their teachers's help?

I think they did a marvelous job at presenting it.

The Davos Question Part II

So to go back to the subject of the Davos Question, if you do a search on YouTube by typing "The Davos Question" you get a plethora of videos relating to it. I will start posting a few that drew my attention

Here, you have kids that have an opinion (cute & fresh).

I guess the point of the parents is that the world needs more cute little girls for them to grow into nice and responsible people.
