Fund Raising Charity Akanksha

My good friend G, sent me this email last night:

Hi,

We’re doing some fund-raising for a charity called Akanksha that I
recently did some voluntary work for.

Akanksha educates kids who live in slums in India and believes that a
good basic education is the best way to help these kids help themselves. It is a
professionally run charity and I have visited the centres and can vouch for the
fact that the money is spent on the kids and not on lots of admin. We’re aiming
to raise £3,500 which is the running cost of an Akanksha centre to educate 60
kids for a whole year! This covers the cost of teachers, materials and field

The Punch Tavern (99 Fleet Street, London) is combining this fund-raiser with
their Summer party for their Members on Tuesday 5 August. Come along if you can,
and/or please consider making an online donation via the following link to the
Just giving site of the UK charity Kinoe (Kids in need of education) which
raises funds for Akanksha. Hopefully a donation of £5/£10/£20 won’t dent your
bank balance too much and it will make a big difference to the kids.
